As part of our journey, we are looking for someone to take on the position as a Technical Sales Engineer with our Project Management and Engineering Department.
What you will do:
You will refer to the Director of Project Management and Engineering and be a part of the North American Project Management and Engineering team. The Technical Sales Engineer provides all pre-sales engineering support to the project Managers and engineers for Project Management and Engineering.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Support the sales group with technical, engineering, process and application knowledge.
- Open and manage all opportunities in CRM.
- Sales drawing development including process flow diagrams and equipment layouts.
- Technical sales duties such as generating and validating material mass balances, heat transfers, utility requirements for the purpose of selecting and proposing equipment and processes.
- Prepare technical quotations for equipment, systems and projects in support of the customers’ needs.
- Participate in the presentation and discussion of proposals and projects with customers.
- Work closely with engineering groups and Project Management to assure the strongest projects and project flow.
- Act as a liaison in flow of communications between salesmen, customer and various internal stakeholders like engineering, service, and project management.
- Specify buyout equipment and secure quotations from outside vendors.
- Follow-up on new customer leads upon request
- Participate in occasional plant visits to assist with field measurements and site assessment.
- Evaluate processes and applications, propose suitable solutions to meet the customer needs.
- Generate layouts and drafts.
- In close collaboration with Haarslev entities world-wide, assure leveraging and applying knowledge and experience for the purpose of strengthening our position in NA.
- Pre-Project site evaluations and 3D scanning.
- Product quotes for the sales group.
- Prepare PAS document.
- Aid the Area Sales Managers in following various processes.
- Produce and maintain 3D layouts containing complete project equipment overview.
- Perform 3D scans at customers’ sites.
- Make and update PIDs
- Assist with improving efficiency and accuracy of the Sales Configurator tool.
- Help implement and develop sales processes.
- Help develop responsibility matrixes for customer proposals.
- Participate in other special projects as needed.
Haarslev Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Strong understanding of processing systems and engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Skilled at MS Office
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Ability to travel 25%
